Author of Feminism, Queerness, Affect, and Romans: Under God?
I am now offering Online Classes and Seminars.
I’m Dr. Jimmy Hoke: a scholar, teacher, and writer. I uncover histories of queer wo/men in the Roman world. I work in the intersections of Paul’s letters, feminism, queerness, and affect studies.
About Dr. Hoke:
Scholar: Jimmy's research bring to life the histories of queer wo/men Christ-followers. They focus on the ideas and the feelings that bubbled up among the diverse folks who interrupted and responded to Paul’s letters. Read more.
Teacher: Jimmy embraces a "living pedagogy” that brings ancient texts and contexts to life through interactive activities and discussions. Jimmy encourages students to consider how the Bible matters in society and politics today and teaches students to read texts with a lens of intersectionality. Read more.
Writer and Speaker: Jimmy writes for a broad and intersectional audience that includes the academy, students, queer folks, religious folks, and the wider public. Jimmy also writes for speaking and presentations, on college campuses, at local events, in religious congregations, and for academic conferences. Read more.
